The National Service Scheme (NSS), launched in 1969 to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s centenary, is a government initiative under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, India. It aims to cultivate social responsibility, leadership, and community engagement among students through voluntary service.
